Whoops! This page is no longer canon!
Vapor has been around since 2012. Since then, we've had many key players come and go, as well as a significant reboot in 2018, which has left many articles contained in this wiki out-of-date or entirely non-canon. Rather than simply remove parts of our history that no longer apply, we have decided to preserve them in our "Legends Canon," so that they may exist outside of Vapor's proper and current canon history. This is one of those articles.

General Ernest Meriott Hale is a Vjiayan Army Officer who is best known for earning the Rouse Iron, the second highest Vjiayan decoration for gallantry in the face of the enemy, at the Second Siege of Fort William on the 27th of October 1876. He was awarded the medal when commanding 3 Platoon, Charlie Company of the Dulanston Borderers when, under heavy fire and with over a half of his thirty men dead or wounded, he successfully extracted a high profile hostage taken by the forces of the uprising. He took a .303 round to the shoulder in the action, but refused a medical evacuation and pressed on, inflicting severe casualties on the enemy.

Born in Dulanston, right on the border between Vjiay and Valoria, he commissioned from the Western Military Academy at Fyars in 1863 at the age of 23 and was immediately posted to a position in his home-city regiment.

He waited for his first action - as a Captain - until 1869 at the Battle of Brampton, where an estimated 3,800 Western Valorians (under the banner of 'Valoran Indepedence Movement') blasted through the Northern Town walls, causing hundreds of civilian casualties. Hale, as part of the Quick Reaction Force of the Valorian Territorials moved quickly to intercept and repel the enemy, forcing them from the town and back into the Western wilderness.
